Crissy Ortiz, Ph.D.
Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Crissy Ortiz applies 20 years of preparation within the human resources, diversity and inclusion, career-services, and learning and development functions to fulfill her ministry of provoking a global movement that shifts societal perspectives of individuals with autism within the workplace. Her purpose of changing the world for her oldest daughter, who has autism, quickly manifested to a mission for the multitude. This calling is interwoven with stretching the minds of the next generation of leaders, through teaching, so they walk confidently and boldly within their purpose.
Dr. Ortiz is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of The Autism Platform Project, which seeks to create equitable employment opportunities by transforming how leaders source, acquire, develop, and engage individuals with autism in meaningful work. She is also a professor at Charleston Southern University, a leading Christian university in South Carolina.
Dr. Ortiz completed her doctoral studies in Global Organizational Leadership and Human Resources Development at Regent University. Her research “Engaging Untapped Talent: Supporting Autistic Employees in Meaningful Employment” explored what supports effectively engage autistic employees in meaningful work. She obtained a Master of Arts degree in Human Resources Management and Management from Webster University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from Charleston Southern University. Crissy also holds the designation of a SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP).
Moreover, she served in several volunteer positions including but not limited to diversity chair of Tri-County Human Resource Management, vice-chair of the South Carolina Credit Union League’s diversity committee, and chair of Trident United Way’s, Financial Community Investment Review Team. She was also a 2010 Charleston Regional Business Journal “Forty Under 40” award recipient.
Currently, Dr. Ortiz is writing a practical guidebook for organizational leaders to reference in providing supports for individuals with autism within the workplace. She enjoys mentoring young adults and has two daughters, ages 11 and 13.

“Real Talk” advice on practical leadership has strengthened
seasoned leaders and helped to develop young professionals across
the globe. Audiences love the warmth of Dr. Troy and universally
respond to his energetic, engaging and empowering style.
